"Green productivity" model is good for Hai Duong environment

The "green-yielding" craft village of Man De village is mainly developed to produce onions and dried garlic, then sold domestically and for export.

The "green-yielding" craft village of Man De village is mainly developed to produce onions and dried garlic, then sold domestically and for export. Previously, the process of processing was done manually, all kinds of waste were not collected, dumped into the dyke, and drained into sewers, causing congestion and environmental pollution. Environmentalists and technology transfer officers of the provincial Department of Science, Technology and Environment have helped Man De people to innovate the technique of drying onions and garlic, using a furnace with less smoke and no pollution. Garlic is collected and brought to the field to burn ashes for fertilizer.

Since the "green productivity" program supported by the Vietnam Green Productive Center, the situation of environmental pollution has decreased. Village roads are clean, fresh air. Man De Village organized a voluntary waste collection team of five people a week to clean and clean the village roads, alleys twice, dredged ponds and lakes and open drains. The people of Man De village voluntarily contribute VND 500 - 1,000 to each household, with a monthly salary of VND 60,000 / month for cleaners. The commune's youth groups also organize garbage collection, sanitation of village roads and sewers.

Since the model of green productivity, there have been no poor people in the village, people's lives have been improved, health has been greatly increased, and no longer suffer from respiratory diseases as before. Many manufacturing facilities have been renovated, with machines such as cropping machines, mills, mills, and kilns replacing the previous manual tools. Each family in the village now produces about 1-2 kg of onions, dried garlic, and earns around VND 1.5 million per month.

Mr. Le Cong Hien, President of Nam Trung Commune said: "The commune government facilitates by implementing guidelines and resolutions for the people to implement. The green productivity program brings benefits in waste and wastewater treatment, application. technology to improve crop productivity, production and economic development. The people in the village are informed about science and technology, from which they understand and apply. "

order to minimize environmental pollution, Man De village also set out the "Environmental Protection Convention" including 13 articles, four chapters clearly on acts, violations, regulations on reward and exclusion ... At Enterprises Producing bricks of Tam Dac, applying the vertical brick kiln model with economic benefits and reducing environmental pollution, Director Luong Huu Hieu said that, compared to the previous manual brick kilns, invested in the kiln. This type of brick is three times higher than that of manual kilns but the payback is quick because the bricks are burned all year round. This furnace model should be popular among people and businesses because the level of investment is not much, high economic benefits. In recent years, the mass production of bricks by manual kilns takes place in many places in Hai Duong province, polluting the environment, directly affecting the health of people and local agricultural production; causing disorder and solidarity in the hamlets and lawsuits at the local government level. Facing this situation, the Department of Science, Technology and Environment of the province transferred the continuous brick kiln model into production. Up to now, the whole province has built and operated 37 pairs of furnaces, in addition, the province also transferred technology to build and operate ten ovens for Thai Nguyen, Ha Tay, Hai Phong and Bac Ninh provinces.

Mr. Ha Bach Dang, Director of Department of Science, Technology and Environment, said: "The continuous vertical brick kiln model will be applied to significantly reduce dust, dust and other environmental pollutants. burning, fuel is thoroughly saved, reducing 30-40% of coal burning compared to manual brick kilns; yielding many times higher productivity. The incinerator throughout the year makes little impact on the surrounding residential areas. ". Vertical brick kiln production has basically solved the problem of environmental pollution in the adjacent production areas, without affecting the agricultural productivity of the people. Thanks to this model, the Center for Application of Scientific Equipment under the Department of Science, Technology and Environment of Hai Duong Province was awarded the Environmental Prize in 2005 by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Going to Van Khai village, Cam Van commune, where many households were formerly slaughtering cattle, affecting the village's environment. The people in the village practice by manual method, which is not hygienic and clean, the wastes are dumped into sewers, rivers causing very unpleasant smell. Up to now, slaughter households transferred and supported by Hai Duong Agricultural Extension Center have built biogas digesters, the waste is collected, then decomposed and then used as fertilizer. Gas in the tunnel is used for cooking and cooking.

Vice Chairman of Cam Van Commune Nguyen Cong Hung said: "Investing in a biogas tunnel costs about 5-10 million VND and can contain 10 - 15m3 of waste. Since the tunnel, households slaughtered a lot cleaner. Slaughter households are gathered, waste and sewage for processing immediately for processing. Every month, the commune authorities implement pollution control measures. Currently, the village has 58 households having biogas digesters out of 1,200 households. In the coming time, the commune authorities will invest how 100% of the households in the village use biogas tanks.

In environmental management, the commune authorities regularly propagate and mobilize people to raise their awareness of environmental protection; urge and remind households to clean their slaughterhouses cleanly, and request households to build biogas plants. The commune provides conventions and struggles to criticize households that cause environmental pollution. Households who intentionally cause pollution will be dealt with appropriately, such as warning on loudspeaker or District people's committee will be administratively fined from 50 to 200,000 dong and confiscated slaughter facilities. Now, the awareness of environmental protection of households has been raised, environmental pollution has decreased.
